"Per la Grecia la povertà è sempre abituale, mentre una virtù è acquisita, consolidata dalla saggezza e da una legge rigida. La Grecia, usando abitualmente (διαχράομαι) la virtù tiene lontano il potere assoluto. Infatti, non è permesso agli Spartani accettare discorsi che portano schiavitù alla Grecia, ma questi (gli Spartani) si apprestano a opporsi a te, anche restando soli.
